Japan , which has one of the highest percentage of population above 65 years of age, has always been taking the brunt of a workforce which has been steadily ageing. While there are many similar countries which had opened its boundaries to fuel its economy, Japan has been a a bit reluctant to do so . This has led many Japanese companies to innovate and move into further automation ad creation of robotics for day to day life.
However with "Abenomics" there is a renewed focus on making Japan as an engine for the economic growth in Asia. Japan is also facing some acute shortage of foreign workers in the construction industry as it gears itself for the Olympics.
It is also encouraging to note that Japan is trying to increase the number of women at senior management positions in the country. This is a healthy trend in a country where women have not been explored to their full potential.
